Wafer's blog thing

A vague account of the happenings in Wafer's life since summer ish 2006. I can't believe that the language I must have this in if I want English is a bloody Americanised corruption of the our tongue.

The second post!

I know I know, lame title but you're lucky I'm even updating it.

Anyway, what's happened lately. Well on the 7th October I was in the Golf Inn watching the Scotland vs France game (qualifier for Euro '08) and we won! 1-0! Get it up ye!
What an absolutely great result for Scotland. Putting us top of our group.

After work myself and a few friends went out, in celebration, to Busby's and drank quite a lot. We then continued drinking at one of thier houses and then my house. At my house we drank jägermeister and akvavit as well as beer until the pub opened at 12.30pm and kept drinking until Busby's closed after kareoke. In other words we drank together for around 24 hours.

Then sadly on the 11th we played the Ukraine and lost 2-0, putting us second in the group but we didn't play well at all, that and the damned Swedish ref was in need of some serious glasses. Damn Swedes : P

This weekend I wasn't working for a change. Instead I went to meet up with some friends in Liverpool.
We (Alex - Zimbabwe, Kaz - Wales, Skeletor - Montrose but stationed down south somewhere and myself) stayed at Alex's place in Liverpool.
We went out drinking on friday night, I found it very very expensive down there as I'm used to Montrose priced alcohol not £5.10 for a double vodka & coke! I was shocked to find that the places we were drinking weren't actually that extortionate compared to other places in the city.

I was very very drunken and keep getting parts of my memory back which isn't pleasant at times.

On saturday we lay around in the living room most of the afternoon watching Old School and Sharpe. Skeletor went away at about 6pm.

We stayed in and watched films and had a few vodkas in the relative safety of Alex's house. Land of the Dead is a must see film and has one of the best vehicals ever in it!
Dead Reckoning!

I left today, sunday, and flew home and after the journey all the way from Liverpool to Montrose my wings need a slight rest. I don't know how the geese do it.

Sadly there are no pictures from while we were out drinking.

Back to the grind tomorrow though.

Sex! Drugs! Rock & Roll!

Now that I've got your attention, I'll introduce you to my first blog thingy. One of my good friend's, from Sweden, has a blog on this site and I thought I should have a go at it.

You can find Lovisa's blog here http://lovisen.blogspot.com/

I think everyone'll be lucky if I update this thing even once, as I'm not so very good at keeping these internet based things, that you need to update occasionally, up and running.

Anywho, what can I really say? Ah I know, my summer.

Summer 2006
I was away over the summer doing exciting things and meeting great people. I worked at Vässarö for 5 weeks as part of the Kök 'A-Team' which kicked so much ass. Not only the working in catering but being in Sweden for Midsommar and all of the...out of work activities we did.
I wish we had the sauna culture over here as they do in Scandanavia, it would be ace. Jumping in the Baltic after bada bastu.

After V-ö I spent some time in Stockholm with some of the people I worked with, then flew down to Mamlö to visit the lovely Emma, where I left my camera in her house - so I don't have many photos of there or Denmark where I travelled to next.

In Denmark, Morten and his sister and a friend and myself went to the GrønKoncert and saw many Danish bands who sang in some funny language...I thought they were choking or gargling. Weird language.
Then I visited Nicoline and managed to get very very sunburnt and injure myself in a few different ways, including getting two pieces of glass in my foot while walking barefoot back from the beach.

Then I flew to Zürich, Switzerland and arrived without my hold-all bag...which happened to have most of my clothes in it. Never mind, always look on the bright side of life and all that, I met Mariale from Venezuela and have been speaking to her since then.
Always make the best of every situation.
I took the train to Kandersteg and was there, working mostly on campsite and even then only sporadically. It was good fun and I got to not only meet the great folk that I worked with last summer there, but also meet new people - the Summer 06 STS.

After staying for 5 days more than I meant to because of some terrorist activity of some sort and getting a mohawk, I arrived back in the country.

Flew back up to the North after meeting my sister and staying at my cousin's place for a night. The domestic flight was hellish compared to the international one, we were really restricted with everything you could even think of taking on the plane, I even had to put my one piece of handluggage (that I should've been allowed), my kilt in it's kilt-roll, into the hold.
Because I wasn't bitter...nope, not at all.
